Chapter 1: The Rainy Forest
It was raining continuously in the Konpeito Forest.
Bear was looking out the window.
Today, he had planned to go with his friend Bear
deep into the forest to look for star fragments,
but…
Today, it was put on hold.
After having an omelet rich in eggs for lunch,
he took a breather.
Bear, full from his meal,
seemed to have started drifting off to sleep and dreaming.
Chapter 2: A Gentle Encounter in the World of Sweets
It was a place he felt he had visited before,
with cake-shaped buildings.
Whole shortcakes and
houses shaped like sliced cakes lined the street.
Bear felt a little cheer up
in his sunken heart.
As he continued walking,
he arrived at a round cake house
with many candy flowers blooming in its garden.
A sweet scent wafted from inside.
Bear tapped on the door, knocking.
From inside, a light voice said,
"Hello!"
Standing there was a Birthday Cake Bear,
with a fluffy cream collar
and a small candle on its head.
Inside the house, there was
a fluffy, sponge-like sofa,
strawberry cushions,
and light, airy lace curtains.
It was as if the entire house was a cake.
While having afternoon tea
prepared by the Birthday Cake Bear,
Bear talked about how he was feeling a bit down.
"It was a chance to go deep into the forest,
but it rained, so I couldn't go."
The Birthday Cake Bear said,
"Oh, that's a shame.
But you know, even on a rainy day, or just an ordinary day,
just having you here
makes the world so bright and special."
The Birthday Cake Bear
lit the candle on its head.
Its light warmed not only the room
but also Bear's heart.
"Just being here makes it a special day..."
He murmured, looking at his hands.
Even if he couldn't go search for star fragments,
he was indeed living this ordinary day.
Bear felt his heart
warm up.
The Birthday Cake Bear
gave him a "beige heart" that seemed to melt.
The moment he received it,
Bear's heart felt as light as a cloud floating in the sky.
"Thank you. Somehow, I feel like everything will be alright just as it is."
……
Chapter 3: An Ordinary Day is Also a Precious and Special Day
Suddenly waking up,
he found himself in his usual room.
In front of him was the plate from his finished omelet.
And in Bear's hand,
was the same beige heart
he had seen in his dream.
"Alright. I think I'll relax at home today."
He mumbled, and
Bear took a book from the bookshelf and
sat down in a chair.
Outside the window, it was still raining,
but in Bear's heart,
a bright and gentle special time
flowed, like a sweet cake.
